Problem

DNN 10.3.3 site templates (Blank Website.template, Default Website.template) include an <allowjsinhtmlmodule> setting, but portal.template.xsd doesn't define that element. Since the settings block is xs:all (strict), validation fails and Manage -> Sites -> Add New Site breaks.

Cause

Upstream bug in DNN 10.3.3: the template files shipped with a setting that the packaged schema doesn't know about yet. Expected to be patched in 10.3.4.

Fix (recommended): patch the schema

File: Website\Components\Portals\portal.template.xsd

1. Back up the file before editing.

2. Open it and find, inside the settings element's <xs:all> block (around lines 36–37):

   <xs:element name="allowjsinmoduleheaders" type="xs:string" minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="1" />
   <xs:element name="allowjsinmodulefooters" type="xs:string" minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="1" />
   

3. Add a new line directly after them:

   <xs:element name="allowjsinhtmlmodule" type="xs:string" minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="1" />
   

4. Save the file.

5. Retry Manage -> Sites -> Add New Site.

Note on durability

Components\ gets overwritten on every DNN upgrade, so this edit will silently revert. Track it somewhere (e.g. this file) and re-apply after upgrades until 10.3.4 ships with the official fix.

Alternative (not recommended): strip the setting from templates

If you'd rather not touch platform files, delete the <allowjsinhtmlmodule>False</allowjsinhtmlmodule> line from:

• Website\Portals\_default\Blank Website.template
• Website\Portals\_default\Default Website.template

This unblocks site creation, but any template exported later from a 10.3.3 install will contain the element again and fail the same way. The schema patch above is the more durable fix.
